Let's Get Rich

Piles of cash growing taller, with the headline Get Rich, Simple in 1,2,3,4... Not Easy

First, let's define what that is. Rich is not the same to everyone, and I honestly am not about making you rich. But what I do want for you is to feel like you have what you need, know that your bills can be paid when they come in, know that you can retire when the time is right, and know that when an emergency hits, you can handle it. If you can hit the things above, then in my mind, you are rich, you are in control, and you have peace in your finances.

Now, the hard truth about getting rich, as I described above, is that it is going to be hard for most. The good news it is simple and only takes a few key principles.

1) Live on less than you make: It is that easy, but not so much when you don't make much. So what is the solution? Make more, put yourself out there, find more work, find better work. Do not settle for the basic job, you are worth more than that. Many people just settle , and that stifles their growth and their potential. Do not settle!

2) Plan for the future: Do not just live in the now. Automate savings for future expenses, retirement, yearly bills, and general savings. You should have all of these. If you are spending your whole paycheck every month on things that come in, then you have to rethink how you are spending your money.

3) Grow: This goes along with number 1, but is bigger than that. Invest in yourself, your growth will grow your income, which will help you to grow your bank account. Time spent on you is time well spent, but do not neglect those around you.

4) Know Your Numbers: When you track your spending, your savings, and your growth, they become real. If you don't track it, then you don't care. So stop just spending freely, start tracking, start planning, and start saving.

I never said this was going to be easy, and I hope you did not expect that, but it is time to get busy. Need better tracking? Visit the Budgeting 101 section above to dive in more.
