Newness of Life

I hope you all had a wonder Easter, or as I like to call it Resurrection Sunday. Time with friends, family and some good energy and laughter. We had wonderful services at church and a good number in attendance, with some great singing and worship as we celebrated. One of the truths that you know as a believer is Christ arose to bring salvation to us and to put us on a path of newness of life. As I reflect on that very statement I just wanted to throw a few quick points together on Newness of Life.

1) A Fresh Start

No matter what journey you are on this means a fresh start. You cannot look back at the mistakes you have made and dwell on them. The key is to focus your attention forward to where you want to go, where you are called to go. Keep your focus there and don't look back.

2) Forgiveness

This is important not only for your to forgive yourself of past mistakes, but also to forgive others. How many times must you forgive "7 times seventy" (Matt 18:22). The idea is to keep forgiving yourself. You will make mistakes, you will fall back. As I teach people, give yourself grace, you are not perfect, you are only human. All you can do is keep looking forward and forgive yourself of your past.

3) Great Gain/Potential Ahead

That is right, if you forgive yourself and keep the focus on the future you have great potential to succeed and do great things going forward. Keep focus on the why you are changing and the potential you are reaching to.

4) It is only the beginning

Just like a baby that was born, you are in newness of life and have to realize it is only the beginning. So much more to come, so much more to gain. You have great potential and a fresh new beginning.

I hope this was a blessing to you. Christ gave us a New Beginning. Whether you are on your financial, career, spiritual or growth journey, recognize today is the day to start fresh, forgive yourself of your past, look ahead to the future and realize it is only the beginning. Focus on the future.

PODCAST Recommendation: Just listened to At the Table with Patrick Lencioni this morning and I highly recommend his latest. Love his assessment right at the end which probably inspired me a bit for this post. Sorry Not Sorry
