If you ask anyone at work what they are up to, there is probably a 90% chance that they are going to come back with the words "I'm busy." We as a people in general will continually point out how busy we are. Being busy seems to be a quality that makes us for some reason feel worthwhile. Countless books have been written on productivity, time management, managing our time and on and on I could go. If I dig into my archives, I'm pretty sure I have a message that I have preached on this very idea of "Redeeming the time," which comes from Galatians 5. God commands us to use our time wisely, use what we have been given to his honor and glory. My message to you today, is short and simple... How are you using your time?
We have a choice each and every day on what we are going to do and how we are going to do it. Will you spend countless hours wasting away in front of the TV, scrolling social media, sleeping or will you use it to do something productive. I'm all for rest when rest is necessary, but we should be using the time we have and maximizing the usage of it.
I was listening to a podcast the other day (cannot remember which one) when the interviewee mentioned his book that was focused on creating more time, which is know is impossible. However, when you break it down, while you cannot create more time, you can choose to do something better than something else.
How you prioritize the work is how you redeem the time. You take out the excess work to make room for the things that are important and add the most value to what you want to accomplish.

With that, I'll keep it short and just challenge you to prioritize what you have to get done, focus on what is most important and redeem the time you have to use it to put towards your goals and what is important. In the picture, I made time to make sure my son and I got in a round of golf with my Dad before my son left for his 2nd year of college. No matter what, that was important and great time spent together.
I redeemed the time today, ensuring I got this Monday motivation blog post out today, despite a quite hectic day.
