Look Who's Watching!

Everyone who is a parent can remember a time when their child caught them doing something and started asking questions. Before you shake your head at this, think about just telling your kid no to a snack and then having them catch you eating it later in the week or whenever. Maybe it's just me, but I can remember multiple instances like this and it is a quick reminder that someone is always watching you.

I loved this picture (4+ years ago now), when I caught my oldest son, Logan , playing basketball with his little brother, Kyle. While it may not seem like much, it has an impact on Kyle, I'm sure of it.
These moments help us to realize that our lives are being watched and who knows the impact we have on others that are watching. Even if you are not a parent, if you are a teenager, in college, or a single individual there are probably several people that are watching you and believe it or not following to try to be like you. What you say and do matters!
God used me yesterday to preach a message on this topic and had me studying multiple parts of the Bible to see this impact. If you so feel inclined, study 1 Samuel 7 and see what Saul's decision resulted in, or maybe Achan in Exodus. Every one of these decisions resulted in a far greater impact than I'm sure these individuals ever realized.
Just take this into perspective. The people we are today were shaped over the course of years by our parents, our teachers, our friends, and those around us. If not for me being challenged years ago to read more, I would not be the reader I am today. If I had not been challenged to save my money as a kid, I would probably handle things differently than I do today. The type of leader I am at work was shaped by God in my life and the Godly men and women that I looked up to for how they led their teams. We were shaped by the people around us and we are shaping people around us the same.
Think about the decisions you are making today and the impact on the future people around you! Think about why you are making the decisions you are making as well as why you are making them. Maybe some of those decisions are due to poor influencers today or in your past. If you see that, now is the time to correct it. Don't wait another minute. If you are struggling with payments and debts, why not change your habits today and recognize that some of your decisions are bad now, before they are too late and affect others around you?
Believe it or not, every decision we make has an impact far greater than we could imagine!
