What are YOU Capable of?

This idea just sparked in my head. Last weekend I had absolutely the best weekend of just some good Father-Son time and doing something I’ve wanted to do for the last several years. My wife purchased for Father’s Day and offroad tour package that I had been wanting. So Friday, we wrapped up work, hopped in the Jeep and headed out to camp for the weekend, with Saturday’s plan to be learning about everything my Jeep can do and having some fun in the process.
As I talk about this with people, I get excited, but one thing I realized more than anything is that the Jeep is capable of so much, without me doing much at all. Let me give you a quick example. There is a steep decent and the direction from the guide is to put on the hill decent button and just let the Jeep do its thing. Seriously, just my hands on the wheel, no gas pedal, no brake pedal, just me steering the Jeep and the jeep doing all the braking and releasing. At another point, all I had to do was slowly increase the gas and the Jeep kicked in the necessary power transfer to get me out of a slide and through the obstacle. All I had to do was drive.
This just got me thinking, my Jeep is capable of so much, but I had no idea how much it could really do, until I went through this course. So that begs the question, forget the Jeep, but what are you capable of? That’s right, I’ll say it again, what are you capable of?
I know me, and I know I put my own limits on myself. Oh I can’t possibly do that, or that is beyond my skill level, or no way I could do that again. Don’t look at me side-eyed, because you do the same thing. You doubt yourself all the time. Just now I bet you can think of a job you have applied for or maybe you didn't, at first glance you thought, I don’t qualify for that. We all do it, we all doubt ourselves all the time.
Truth be told we can do anything that we put our mind to. If God has called you to do something, then he can enable you to do just that as well. Further if you are in the center of God’s will you most certainly can do that.
Get past your own fear and doubt. I encourage you when you doubt yourself to just think about it for a moment. Maybe take a moment and pause. Write your fears out and then sit back and look at them. I challenge you to then debunk them, show those fears just how wrong they are. The truth is that those fears are purely in your head. You are thinking the worst possible thing and downplaying yourself in the process.
You are capable and possible of just about anything. Stop doubting yourself. You are built to do just what God has called you to do. Just like my Jeep was designed to go over hills, through mud, and down large declines, you are capable of just those same things, so stop doubting yourself and realize what you are capable of.
